SPORT: Talamthom vs. Mayo

The Republic of Talamthom's entrance into EIFA along with other newcomers Mayo was a baptism of fire for the hosts at New Lansdowne Road, Baile na hÁlainn who went down 14-7 in the high-scoring match. Talamthom, under the charge of caretaker manager George O'Connor, went for an attacking strategy and formation and were punished consistently by a much sturdier Mayo. One thing was for sure and that was that 54,000 spectators at Lansdowne Road were treated to an exciting match.

Talamthom need not worry too much about the match, as regardless of the result, they have been accepted into EIFA and will be able to compete in the World Cup this Christmas time. It is not known who will be in charge for the matches but the TFA is under pressure to employ a Tománnach citizen. It is too early to predict whether Talamthom will be able to be competitive in this coming world cup but it will be an interesting time for Tománn football that's for sure!
