Treaty With Grand Commonwealth May Be The Greatest Yet

President Tomás Ó Ceallaigh has confirmed that he has been undertaking negotiations with the Grand Commonwealth. Ó Ceallaigh and Ardashir Khan have been looking into formulating a treaty follow the Tománnach President's public expression of support in the Foreign Office.

The treaty is designed to be as brief and yet to the point as possible to avoid complicated treaties like the one San Martin offered to Talamthom before collapsing. Interesting the Dáil chose to reject that treaty outright. It will offer a mutual defence agreement of sorts, pending the full formation of the Talamthom Republican Army, and also offer the potential for a free trade zone to be established.

The treaty will be signed by Khan and the President in a signing ceremony in Cambridge, England, and will be considered as passed pending full ratification by the Dáil during the next term of office. The exact dates for the signing of the treaty are not yet known but it's expected the venue will be one that serves Guinness and a selection of Ales.

The treaty is considered to be the most significant treaty yet for the Republic since the first treaty of mutual recognition, with the Kingdom of Gotzborg, was signed way back in August of last year. This is just a small step in a renewed approach to foreign affairs to be undertaken next term.
